Music: Free Therapy For The Soul

Music is essential to fulfilling the heart and purpose of Woodstock. The event from August 1969 was for people to escape into music and spread a message of unity and peace. The invitation to escape the despair and conflict of the outside world and share the gift of music is enticing to everyone, music lovers and not alike.

This is because music has always had these deep connections with the brain, making the human race crave it. It creates emotions that drive our actions and influences people to develop a bond and unity. The combined elements of words, melody, and rhythm stimulate a positive mood.

Confidence Booster For The Superstar

Janis Joplin was among the most successful female rock stars in history, setting herself different for her powerful vocals and electric stage presence. Undoubtedly, she would rock the stage when she showed up at Woodstock ’69. However, it seemed like she was overwhelmed by the massive crowd on the ground too.

As the superstar that she is, Joplin joined the crowd, sat down, and shared a toast of wine with everybody else before performing onstage. After all, wines and beverages of the same kind release the pleasure hormones that evoke confidence and power. Whether she hit the right notes or not, she was there to make a stand.

Make Way For The Grateful Dead

The founding member, principal songwriter, lead guitarist, and vocalist of the rock band Grateful Dead is no other than the ’60s icon himself, Jerry Garcia. Apart from his contribution to the music world, he is not without his thick beard, curly-haired, and round colored glasses that he happily flashed at Woodstock.

The band went on to perform that night, and although it did not go as smoothly as he wanted it to be, he’d be forever remembered for appearing at that event. Not only that, Garcia and his band left us with the all-time classics “Touch of Grey,” “Althea,” and “Eyes of the World.”
