Richard Bruce Cheney served as the vice president during Geoge W. Bush’s administration. Before assuming that office, he also held the office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense and chaired the House Republican Conference. As of 2021, he’s recognized as the oldest living former vice president in the U.S.

In August 2011, he co-wrote a memoir in collaboration with his daughter Liz Cheney. Several pop culture references have been made about him, and most recently, Andrew Horwitz portrayed Cheney in the historical drama Mrs. America. He’s worth an estimated $100M.

George W. Bush – $40 million

George W. Bush concluded his term as the 43rd President of the U.S. in 2009. As a member of the Republican Party, he previously held the office of governor in Texas. His father, George H. W. Bush, also served as President of the U.S. Outside of politics, he co-owned the Arlington-based Texas Rangers.

In less than two months following its release, his 2010 memoir titled Decision Points sold two million copies. He also picked up painting and has worked on portraits of leaders like Tony Blair and Vladimir Putin. His wife, Laura Welch, accompanied him to Joe Biden’s 2021 inauguration ceremony.
