The Royal Family Has A Quirky Holiday Dinner Tradition
It’s no secret that the royal family follows a lot of traditions, many of them centuries-old. This bizarre Christmas custom is one of the newer ones, though, dating back to the early 20th century. According to royal biographer Ingrid Seward, each royal would weigh themselves before sitting down for dinner.
But it doesn’t end there; the scales come out again after they finish eating and before leaving. This is to ensure that all guests are well-fed. So, no, there’s no use counting calories during the holidays as they’re served a turkey plus afternoon tea.
