Born in Iran but bred in Australia, Leila McKinnon built her media profile working for Nine Network. She made her name as a fill-in presenter for shows like Nine News and A Current Affair. She started her career as a writer, doing work for The Sunday Telegraph in Brisbane. This was while working on a Journalism degree at the Queensland University of Technology.
Once she graduated, McKinnon joined WIN Television for a cadetship, where she found her passion for television. She then moved to Nine Network, where she worked as a reporter for A Current Affair and newsreader for Today. She still works in this capacity in 2021.
