Karina Carvalho is a Sri Lankan-born Australian woman who has a Portuguese surname. The journalist graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, majoring in journalism. After working in Australia for a bit, she moved to the UK to gain experience at the BBC.
Upon returning to Perth, Australia, she brought her experience home and loaded a job with the Australian Broadcast Corporation. She is currently the presenter for ABC News Channel and hosts the late news from Mondays to Wednesdays. She became the presenter on ABC Evening News and had to relocate to Sydney for the job.
