Alice Lee Roosevelt & Nicholas Longworth – 1906
Alice Lee Roosevelt was the firstborn child of Theodore Roosevelt Jr., the 26th President of the United States. She was a writer by profession and was also a socialite. Alice was anything but traditional, which is probably why she opted for a blue gown for her big day, which welcomed over 1,000 attendees.
In fact, it became so popular that the color was called “Princess Alice Blue.” Alice led a controversial lifestyle and wasn’t on the best of terms with her husband. Her only child, Paulina Longworth, was reportedly from an affair she had with another.
