Dwight Eisenhower & Mamie Doud – 1916

After bearing several top positions in the United States military, Dwight D. Eisenhower rose to the highest position by becoming the 34th POTUS. Decades before obtaining the title, he fell in love with Mamie Doud, whose hand he took in marriage in 1916.

On their big day, Doud wore a layered lace dress with scallop edges. She threw a matching coverup on top, which brought the whole look together. Eisenhower, on the other hand, wore his military uniform. The couple had two sons (one passed on as a toddler) and remained together until Eisenhower’s passing from congestive heart failure in 1969.
