Tom Courtenay, 84

Sir Tom Courtenay is a respected actor who excelled both on screen and stage. He came to prominence with a role in 1962’s The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, for which he won a BAFTA for Most Promising Newcomer. He continued his successful performances with a role in the 1965 Doctor Zhivago.

He would earn an Oscar nomination for that role and a Golden Globe Award for The Dresser, a film based on a play he starred in. He is still active today and is set to start in The North Water, due in 2021.
