Funnyman Maxwell Boyce, MBE, famous as Max Boyce, thrived as a comedian and entertainer, although he’s also a singer. He rose to prominence in the mid-’70s, having made his debut in 1971, famously combining musical comedy and his love for rugby union. His 1975 comedy album “We All Had Doctors’ Papers” topped the UK Albums Chart.

The comedy masterpiece remains the only one to have topped that chat. Boyce has over two million album sales in his four decades career. The 1943 Glamorgan-born comedian, who’s still active, was last seen on screen in an episode of the 2020 mini docu-series “The Great Indoors.”
