Brian Murphy, 89
Brian Murphy established himself as an actor with a number of roles in sitcoms. His most famous is in “Man About the House,” where he played George Roper. The sitcom’s success went on to give way to a spin-off, “George and Mildred.” He also went on to star in the films that arose from the show too.
In 2003, he started appearing in “Last of the Summer Wine” as Alvin Smedley, a role he held till 2010. He has appeared in small roles in TV shows and movies. As of 2022, his most recent work was as the voice of Old Man L in “The Mighty 6” in 2020-2021.
