Sally Thomsett was well-known for portraying the sweet adolescent Phyllis in the family drama “The Railway Children,”—a film released in 1970. It became one of the most popular movies of its era, earning Thomsett a BAFTA Award nomination.

To the dismay of her fans, she did not appear in the sequel, released in 2022. However, in a 2022 interview, she described her wild moments during the original film’s shoot as the best she’s ever had. Thomsett reportedly appeared in over thirty films despite only spending about a decade on set. Her final screen appearance was in the 1997 series “The Lily Savage Show.”
