Upstairs, Downstairs was a ’70s British series that made us to made us better acquainted with several English stars, including Billy Henshaw. His other features included The Rag Trade, In Loving Memory, and Last of the Summer Wine. He also collaborated with his son James in 2009 to pen a production commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the First World War. 

Beeny died in January 2020 at his residence in Kent. He’s survived by the three children he had from his two marriages. His son Rick Blackman shared the sad news on Twitter, adding that at the ned, he wasn’t but bound to his armchair.
