Neil Peart – Glioblastoma
For three and a half years, Neil Peart quietly battled brain cancer before it ultimately claimed his life in January 2020. He’s remembered for his time with Rush as the band’s primary lyricist and drummer. He became the youngest person to become a Modern Drummer Hall of Fame inductee as voted by the publication’s readers in 1983.
He quit the industry in December 2015 through a Drumhead Magazine interview. His wellbeing influenced the decision, and he later found out that he had glioblastoma. He passed away in January 2020, aged 67.
