John Wayne – Stomach Cancer
Famously known as Duke, John Wayne was an acclaimed actor who, since making his Hollywood debut in 1926, starred in 179 films and television shows. At the peak of his stellar career, the performer appeared in blockbusters like ‘True Grit,’ ‘The Quiet Man,’ and ‘The Longest Day’ winning numerous awards, including an Academy Award, in the process.
Sadly, in June 1979, Wayne passed on after a long battle with stomach cancer, aged 72. Nonetheless, the icon from Hollywood’s golden age will always be immortalized by the extensive portfolio of creative work he left behind, which will undoubtedly be revered by generations to come.
