Sausage Party (2016)

Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party sparked outrage in several countries on the grounds of its content being highly inappropriate for younger audiences. Several edits and the removal of a particularly unflattering character later, the film was finally released with an R rating for its strongly explicit content.

Given that Sausage Party was an animated film with a seemingly innocent and kid-friendly title, officials in countries like China and France were worried that most parents would unknowingly deem it appropriate for kids. China would later ban the film, while it was shown in French cinemas despite legal threats from a conservative Catholic group.
