Legendary guitarist Neil Young left school to pursue a career in music after he was inspired by notable artists like Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison. He eventually formed the group The Squires but left the band to focus on songwriting. This was hardly the first act he was involved with, but he also found success as a solo artist.

Young is now regarded as one of the biggest names in the music industry. But how successful is he? In January 2021, the Heart of Gold hitmaker, known for his activism, sold half of the stakes of his catalog, which involves 1,180 songs, for an eye-popping $150 million.
