A Question Of Breed
Of course, the pups’ breed was a guess at best. It was likely based on the fact that they had the labrador’s black coat and were born in a litter of eight. Larger breeds typically birth this many pups as opposed to the maximum of four that smaller dogs typically do.
One way to determine whether the babies were truly labradors was to test their genetic makeup. This is usually done in laboratories, but people can now buy home test kits from sites like Amazon. There would be no need for those here, though, as you’ll soon find out.
