George Edward Negus (80) – Queensland, Australia

George Edward Negus has had quite a fulfilling life and career. He’s come far since the early days of reporting for ABC’s “This Day Tonight.” The current affairs show was one of the first of its kind, and Negus pioneered its popularity until the ’70s, when it was finally phased out.

Highlights of his career also include the seven years he spent hosting the foreign-themed current affairs show “Foreign Correspondent.” And his impressive journalistic skills became more widely recognized in 2005 when he finally began hosting “Dateline” on SBS. Negus is also the author of the bestselling book “The World from Islam.”
