Wendy Blacklock (90) – Sydney, Australia
Like many actors of her time, Wendy Blacklock began her career performing in revues, pantomimes, and musicals. She trained at the Conservatorium of Sydney and the Rathbone Academy of Dramatic Arts before spending the first half of her career on stage.
Blacklock is best known for her long-running role as ‘Edie MacDonald’ on the ”70s show “Number 96,” which was the highest-rated drama in the country at the time. She also partnered with the Elizabethan Theatre Trust to found the Australian Content Department performing Lines which she ran for over two decades. Now you know why she’s fondly referred to as ‘The Grand Dame of the Stage.’
