Myanmar
The number of active personnel in the Myanmar armed forces puts them only a bit behind the top ten armed forces of the world, with about 406K people. Also known as the Tatmadaw, they, too, have an army, navy, and air force for the defense of the country with a few more auxiliary services as well.
After the country’s independence in 1948, its forces were weak with disunity. The last war fought by the government was against Taiwan in a coalition with the People’s Republic of China. They were victorious in the war, and as a result, the Taiwanese withdrew their forces from Burma.
