Malaysia
Considering Malaysia is a country with numerous islands, it has a massive military system based on its air force, navy, and army, which all report to the King of Malaysia. As of 2021, the command had 113K active and 52K reserved personnel. The budget allocation for all the forces combined was $3.6 billion.
This military was created during the early 20th century when there was British rule in the area. Malaysia and Singapore used to be one single state. While the armed forces protected the British interests at that time, after their independence in 1957, their only task was to protect the sovereignty of Malaysia.
