Ben Carson (70) – Detroit, Michigan

The chances of child doctors discovering international fame are pretty steep. But, such was not the case for the retired Pediatric Neurosurgeon, writer, and politician, Ben Carson. Carson was only 33 years back in 1984 when he became the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.

He pioneered the 22-hours conjoined twins’ surgery that took him to stardom in 1987. It was groundbreaking and has since kept him in the spotlight. Asides from being a talented writer, with several publications like the 2022 eye-opener, “Created Equal,” in 2016, he ran for the seat of the president of the United States, which has earned him endless media attention.
