A Visit From Law Enforcement

Russell’s ingenious trap soon caught the attention of the police. Unfortunately, the law deems it illegal to construct a device that could cause an explosion without the proper permits. So although Russell had intended to safeguard himself against the greedy intruders, he found himself in trouble with law enforcement.

Despite his attempts to prevent the trap from harming the thief, the police refused to let him go scot-free. Loretta Cool, a spokeswoman for the police department, unequivocally stated that Russell’s invention was illegal, even though it was harmless. It’s a shame that Russell’s attempt to protect his property has landed him in trouble with the law.
