Dismissed but Determined
Tim’s call to the police didn’t go as he’d hoped. Their response was cool, almost bored, brushing off his concerns as the work of an animal. “Probably nothing,” they said, suggesting he just keep an eye on it, nothing more. As he hung up, frustration boiled inside him.
Alone in the park, the indifference of the authorities stung sharply. Tim stared at the nest, confident that what he’d found was anything but ordinary. With the police brushing him off, he felt torn.
