If you were adult enough to watch horror movies in the ’80s, you’d surely know “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.” This character was played by Cassandra Peterson on the TV show “Elvira’s Movie Macabre,” where she’d host spooky movie runs. The show ran for five years from 1981 and then restarted again in 2010 for another two years.

Peterson’s one-liners and that voice to match the theme really kicked off, and the character became really famous. So much so that she’s played the same character on numerous other occasions. In 2021 she played Elvira once again on “Netflix and Chills with Dr. Elvira.”
