Essentially, not everyone believes that a bad deed will result in something bad happening. And while justice is unfortunately not always served to everyone, it does come back to haunt them in one way or the other. Karma is a loosely used term to refer to the bad things that we receive due to our previous bad deeds.
According to the BBC, this concept can refer to many things based on religion. However, it generally means that our past actions will affect us in the future, either positively or negatively.
