Michael Phelps – $80 million

Former competitive swimmer Michael Fred Phelps earned 28 Olympic medals throughout his career, and 23 were Olympic gold medals. He iconically won eight medals at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Phelps also holds the records for the men’s 400-meter medley. He eventually retired for the second time in August 2016.

Right-wing pundits haven’t had the best things to say about Phelps, like when Bill O’Reilly accused him of being elitist and advised him to get a “real job.” O’Reilly made the remarks in response to the famous statement Phelps made about consuming 10K worth of protein cubes and raw carbs each day.
