Sidney Poitier – $20 million
Sidney Poitier is one of the oldest living recipients of an Oscar, and he earned the accolade when he showed off his acting chops in Lilies of the Field. Winning the award for the 1964 film also made him the first black male Bahamian actor to have the honor of attaining such an achievement.
He served as an ambassador of the Bahamas to Japan from 1997 to 2007. From 2002 to 2007, he served as a UNESCO ambassador to the Bahamas. Poitier has an upcoming feature in the Scales of Justice documentary, and he was recently featured in Entertainment Tonight episodes aired in 2021.
