From November 2003 until December 2005, Michael Howard was the Leader of the Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition in the United Kingdom. At the 2005 General Election, Michael Howard ran as the Conservative Party’s candidate for Prime Minister.
The former Conservative leader had become the latest Conservative to face criticism over their country’s properties when it was revealed that the government paid £17K of his gardening labor. The national archives papers published by the Government include details of an inquiry into an alleged UFO sighting above the former home secretary’s residence in Lympne.
