This kind of grill looks like something from the set of “Game of Thrones” or “Vikings.” But it is a modern grill used by modern people. We can still imagine that it is reserved for the most important guests and occasions. Although, some people use it frequently in the south.
It is a grilling method called a Schwenker. It originated from Germany but no one knows exactly how it got to America. It may have followed the first German settlers who moved to Pennsylvania in 1683. It can’t be traced, but it is very popular in southern America today.
