The Saltiest On Earth
One would think that with that much water in Antarctica, it could solve the problem of water shortage. But, they could not be more wrong! The water bodies in the region are some of the saltiest on the Earth, especially a highly concentrated body called Don Juan Pond. Touted as one of the most interesting ponds in the world, it stays liquid even at -30°C due to the salts!
The pond is small in size as compared to other water bodies present and is said to be the size of a football field.
