Unusual Clouds Over Antarctica
Antarctica lights up during late November and early December when an unusual thick blanket of clouds roll in. The reason why they are so special is the noctilucent clouds are made of vibrant colors! They appear wispy and shining from the ground up, but from the above, they look bright blue. And when the formation reflects sunlight, it glows a shocking blue, making the sight almost ethereal-like. The photos do not do justice to the phenomenon!
They were first discovered in 1885 and can be yearly spotted around in the winter months.
