Rishi Sunak – $281 million
With an estimated fortune of $281 million, Rishi Sunak is believed to be the richest member of the House of Commons. Think that’s unusual for a politician? Knowing his background in finance, that impressive number makes more sense. He reportedly worked for investment banking giant Goldman Sachs and then his own firm.
That said, he likely took a pay cut when he began serving as the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2020. The post pays around $100K in addition to the other six-figure sum he receives as a member of parliament. We don’t doubt he could still afford his pre-politics lifestyle, though, given the wealth he has built over the years.
