Sidney Poitier, 94
Sidney Poitier is regarded as the man who opened the doors for many black actors. After claiming the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1964, our sound man made history, and he has never looked back since. This was the start of a string of noteworthy achievements that are still highly regarded to date.
Aside from acting, the master craftsman also got a Grammy for a spoken word album making him one of the few actors to make it happen. Sidney currently resides in Stuyvesant, New York, where he enjoys spending time with his family, consisting of six daughters, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
