Pierre Cardin, 98 Years Old
Grand couturier, Pierre Cardin, was easily one of the most influential fashion forces of our age. Famous for his preference for geometry in design and unis*x innovations, his fashion house was founded in 1950 and remained a trendsetting icon of contemporary culture.
The French designer who made the bubble dress famous in the ’50s had amassed over 900 commercial design licenses by the early ’00s. The man who dressed people like The Beatles and designed costumes for Jean Cocteau’s Beauty and the Beast sadly passed away on December 29, 2020, at the American Hospital of Paris. Fans are still waiting for a cause of death to be announced.
