Emily Watson, 54

Unlike other successful stars, Emily Watson got her career start in her mid-20s, playing Bess McNeill in the 1996 movie Breaking the Waves. Although she relatively got a late beginning, she was already an established stage actress working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, which she joined in 1992.

The 54-year-old, who seemed to have stopped time, remains active, playing forensic psychiatrist Emma Robertson in the ITV show Too Close. With this portrayal, it’s obvious that Watson is versatile in the roles she plays: from a nuclear physicist in Chernobyl to the foster parent in The Book Thief.
