Sometimes You Have To Move With The Times
As previously touched on, the Amish don’t jump on modern technology crazes. But it’s not that they’re anti-technology or hate the stuff, it’s just that they’re all about the simple life, and it requires sound reasoning and a principle match to the rules of the local Ordnung before leaders opt to allow tech.
Some Amish communities have worked faster than others to accept new technology, though. Take the Amish community in Kalona, Iowa. They use everything from tractors to propane gas, inside flush toilets, and runner water bathtub. Compare this to the Swartzentruber Amish, whose only technological advancement has been using a motorized washing machine.
