Nina Antonia is an English author who has chronicled the lives and misadventures of Johnny Thunders, the New York Dolls, and others. Her later work includes the novel The Greenwood Faun on decadent and supernatural themes.
Recently, she was interviewed on the passing of the punk icon Johnny Thunder, who died three decades ago in April 1991. She said that if Johnny had more money to spend, he would have liked to take care of others. It was not the “Thunder” side of him or the hardened junkie, but the golden-hearted boy from Queens.
