Bobby Charlton and Norma Ball
Former midfielder Robert Charlton is considered one of the best soccer players in history. He helped the England team holster the FIFA World Cup in 1966, earning him a Ballon d’Or. Most of his playing career was spent with Manchester United. After a stint with Blacktown City, he retired.
A Manchester ice rink is where he became acquainted with Norma Ball in 1959. The pair got hitched in 1961 and had two daughters. Their daughter Suzanne is now a successful weather forecaster working with BBC. Suzanne made her old man a grandfather and also named her son Robert in his honor.
