Billy The Kid
Henry McCarty, better known as Billy the Kid, was a sharpshooter who participated in the Lincoln County War during the 19th century. Despite being sentenced to hang for murder, McCarty escaped from jail and evaded capture for two months before being shot and killed by Sherrif Pat Garrett at 21 years olld. He was a notorious outlaw who was suspected of killing 21 individuals.
McCarty’s first arrest was for stealing food at the age of 16, and he soon became a wanted man in Arizona after killing a blacksmith. Billy the Kid’s legend has lived on in popular culture, with numerous films and TV shows depicting his life and exploits.
