Conrad Heyer
Conrad Heyer, a farmer and warrior of the Revolutionary War from the United States, is notable for possibly being the oldest American captured on camera. Born in 1749, Heyer worked as a farmer before joining George Washington’s Continental Army and participating in the battles that crossed the Delaware river.
Following the war, he returned to Waldoboro, where he continued to farm until his passing in 1856 at 106 years old. In 1852, at the age of 103, Heyer posed for a daguerreotype portrait, possibly making him the earliest-born person to have ever been photographed. However, there is still some dispute over this claim.
