Let’s be honest: sharks are not a very popular animal. These magnificent sea predators have inspired some scary movies, such as the legendary Jaws, and make for one of the world’s most feared beasts. But to Eli Martinez, the Shark Diving magazine editor, sharks are seen in a very different light.

Shark diving is a riskier alternative to shark cage diving, in which a steel cage conveniently protects divers. Still, there are some advantages to it: when you do it right, you can get very close to the sharks and even make some cool new friends!
