Rick Mercer and Gerald Lunz – 31 years

Rick Mercer and Gerald Lunz have been spouses since 1990. The romantic relationship came first, but Lunz has been Mercer’s long-time business partner too, since Lunz discovered him, fostered his career, and was the executive producer of the Rick Mercer Report.

Mercer prefers to keep his private life out of public view on the show without hiding his identity. In 2014, he was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada. Recently, he has been known for his rants about staying at home during the ongoing pandemic, which Lunz supports.
