Herbert Hoover & Lou Henry Hoover – 1899
Most of you were probably not even born when Herbert Hoover swore in as the 31st President of the United States, making Lou Henry Hoover the First Lady. She took care of the Rapidan Camp presidential retreat building project and is also credited for frequently appearing in national radio broadcasts.
On February 10, 1899, the Hoovers took each other’s hands in marriage at the age of 24. Their unification happened at Lou’s parents’ home in Monterey, California, for which she wore a dark dress with long sleeves and paired it with a gorgeous top hat.
