They say that to be the best, you have to beat the best… or learn from them. The latter is exactly what Ian Lavender did when he was cast in the sitcom Dad’s Army. He was cast at the age of 22, playing the youngest, and dumbest character in the show.
But the experience also allowed him to learn from more experienced actors while gaining some great exposure in the process. What he learned made him very employable, although he had his ups and downs, like the failed project Come Back Mrs. Noah, which was unsuccessful. He was last featured in the Documentary called We Love Dad’s Army.
