Greg Berlanti and Robbie Rogers
The touching story behind the romantic relationship of Greg Berlanti and Robbie Rogers is a modern-day tale of romance. On a rooftop pride party in 2013, Berlanti was introduced to Rogers, a professional soccer player competing for LA Galaxy. Though they started out as friends, they eventually became a couple after Rogers asked Berlanti to be his plus-one at the ESPY Awards. The couple married in 2017 and has had two children since.
Berlanti and Rogers have made much progress in the LGBTQ+ rights movement, particularly evident in the success of the 2018 film “Love, Simon,” which Berlanti directed. It’s the first teen gay rom-com released by a major studio.
