Christopher Pettiet – Drug Overdose
The Young Riders and Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead are some of Christopher Lee Pettiet’s best-known features. Pettiet mostly landed guest roles on TV shows after that, and we last saw him on an episode of Judging Amy in 1999. He accidentally overdosed and passed away in the year 2000.
He was only 24 years old, and the autopsy report listed that his body had succumbed to the combined effect of diazepam, cocaine, and propoxyphene. The report also listed probable cardiomyopathy as the cause of his death. Kevin McDermott, his acting coach, established a scholarship fund in Pettiet’s honor.
