Pulp Fiction (1994)
From Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to Dusk Till Dawn, Quentin Tarantino has had his fair share of banned films over the years. The director extraordinaire is also the man behind 1994’s Pulp Fiction, a riveting cult classic that catapulted the careers of stars like John Travolta, Uma Thurman, and Samuel L. Jackson to new heights.
First revealed at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, Pulp Fiction was released in Japan, South Korea, and Slovakia before coming to America. Some countries like Malaysia, however, took offense to the film featuring several scenes depicting too much skin, physical violence, and substance abuse, banning the hit production from local cinemas.
