Anthony Ferraro Louis Barber (82) Lancashire, England

Anthony Louis Barber grew up during the dark years of World War II. But in that season of turmoil, he developed a zest for life and an enthusiastic appreciation for beautiful things. And with an irrepressible spring in his step, he grew up to be one of the most influential personalities in Australian television.

Barber is a game show host, media personality, and announcer who received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1991 in honor of his service to the industry. And his service includes hosting “Sale of the Century,” “The $25,000 Great Temptation,” and the short-lived Australian version of “Jeopardy!” on Network Ten.
