Ugly Dave Gray (88) – Manchester, England

Graham David Taylor adopted the moniker ‘Ugly Dave Gray’ at the start of his comedy career. And he certainly got the audience laughing at his ability to tell self-deprecating jokes boldly. Yet few fans today know that Gray got his start in his hometown.

Though he was already active as a comedian in England, things took a better turn for him when he moved to Australia. Gray landed his big break in 1977 when he was approached to join the panel of the game show “Blankety Blanks.” He transitioned fully into the role of game-show host with shows like “Celebrity Tattle Tale” and “Play Your Cards Right.”
